Can’t anyone be nice?

“Jesus, you lost a ton of weight!” said DH’s buddy upon seeing me today after several months (he didn’t even say hello, mind you), to which DHreplied, yelling from the other room as if I weren’t present, “I told you”

Is it impossible for people to say, “You look good.” Why is that so hard? Do they not realize that saying “You lost a ton of weight.” or “Where’s the rest of you” are not flattering things?

No one said anything about my weight when I was fat. Why is it such a topic of conversation now?

Today I am grateful for: cooler weather
Today’s funny moment:
Training: 4 hours 45 minutes
Water: 4 liters
Corset: not worn

  1. I think, people no longer take the time to consider what they are saying or the power that their words have. They’ll blurt the first thing that pops in their head and think they are being complimentary and honest when they’re really just being rude.
